virt-manager may allow automatic creation of virtual machines

published 4 days ago
Summary

The virt-install tool in the virt-manager package now includes an '--unattended' option that can start new virtual machines without any user interaction. This could let an attacker create VMs on your system without your knowledge, consuming resources or providing a foothold for further attacks. Review your configuration and disable or restrict the unattended option, and apply any available updates that address this behavior.

What to do
  • Update cleanstart virt-manager to version 2.2.1-r0.
