Linux NTFS driver can corrupt memory when mounting crafted drive
published 3 months ago
Summary
The NTFS file system driver in the Linux kernel could write past the end of an internal data structure while replaying a journal during a mount. A specially prepared NTFS volume could cause the system to crash or become unstable. Updating the kernel to the latest version applies a fix that checks the size of the data before copying it.
What to do
- Update echo linux to version 6.12.96-1.
