MySQL Server can be crashed by remote attacker

published 2 years ago
Summary

The MySQL Server used in Azure MySQL versions up to 8.0.39, 8.4.2 and 9.0.1 can be forced to stop working by a high‑privilege attacker who can reach the server over the network. This may cause the database to hang or repeatedly crash, interrupting your applications. Upgrade to MySQL 8.0.40-1 or newer, or apply the vendor’s patch, to prevent the issue.
