Linux stmmac driver can crash if receive memory runs out
published 5 months ago
Summary
The network driver that handles Ethernet traffic in the Linux kernel may try to use a missing data buffer when the system runs out of memory for incoming packets. This can cause the system to freeze or restart unexpectedly. Updating the kernel to the latest version or applying the vendor's patch will prevent the crash.
What to do
- Update echo linux to version 6.12.88-1.
