Linux NFC driver can run out of memory from bad data
published 6 months ago
Summary
The Linux NFC driver that talks to PN532 RFID devices can keep adding incoming bytes to a temporary buffer without stopping, so a stream of malformed data can fill up memory. This can cause the system to become unstable or crash. Upgrade to the latest kernel version where the driver stops adding data once the buffer is full.
What to do
- Update echo linux to version 6.1.170-1.
