Python cryptography library can be fooled by fake certificates

published 1 month ago
Summary

The cryptography package that comes with Python 3.14 has two weaknesses. First, it can be tricked into accepting fake security certificates, which could let attackers pretend to be trusted sites or services. Second, it can spend an excessive amount of time processing certain certificate chains, which may slow down or crash applications. Install the updated package as soon as possible to fix these problems.
