Linux AWS kernels could let attackers take control

published 1 month ago
Summary

The Linux kernel versions used in AWS, AWS‑5.15, AWS‑FIPS, and NVIDIA Tegra IGX environments have a weakness in their IPv6 networking and firewall code. An attacker who exploits this could gain unauthorized access to the system. Apply the latest updates from the vendor as soon as possible to fix the problem.

What to do
  • Update canonical linux-aws-5.15 to version 5.15.0-1115.122~20.04.1.
  • Update canonical linux-aws to version 5.15.0-1115.122.
  • Update canonical linux-nvidia-tegra-igx to version 5.15.0-1056.56.
  • Update canonical linux-aws-fips to version 5.15.0-1115.122+fips1.
