Wireshark can crash and cause denial of service
published 3 months ago
Summary
Versions of Wireshark from 4.4.0 to 4.4.16 and from 4.6.0 to 4.6.6 have a problem handling certain Wi‑Fi packet data that can make the program stop working. An attacker who can send specially crafted Wi‑Fi traffic could force the application to crash, preventing it from being used. Upgrade to a newer version that includes the fix or apply the vendor’s recommended patch.
