Apache Hive permits SQL injection through pgjdbc driver
published 11 days ago
Summary
The PostgreSQL JDBC driver used by Apache Hive can let an attacker add their own SQL commands if the driver is set to PreferQueryMode=SIMPLE. This could let a malicious user read, change, or delete data in your Hive queries. To protect yourself, update to a version of the driver that disables this mode by default or switch the setting to a safer mode, and apply any patches provided by the vendor.
What to do
- Update cleanstart apache-hive to version 3.1.3-r3.
