CVE-2026-96219: Windows 10/11 LSASS can let attackers run code remotely

CVE-2026-96219 · published 21 days ago
Summary

The Local Security Authority Subsystem Service in Windows 10 (versions 1809, 21H2, 22H2) and Windows 11 (versions 23H2, 24H2) can be tricked into writing data outside its intended area. This lets an unauthenticated attacker send specially crafted network traffic and cause the system to run their own code, potentially compromising the machine. Apply the latest security updates from Microsoft as soon as possible to close the gap.
