CVE-2026-77784: Rank Math SEO plugin lets authors edit others' metadata

CVE-2026-77784 · published 2 months ago
Summary

The Rank Math SEO plugin for WordPress, versions before 1.0.277, does not check whether a user is allowed to change the SEO information for a piece of content. Because of this, anyone with the Author role or higher can modify SEO settings on posts, categories, or user profiles they don’t own, and can even hide other users' content from the site’s sitemap and search results. Upgrade the plugin to version 1.0.277 or later to restore proper permission checks.
