CVE-2026-44116: OpenClaw lets attackers reach internal systems via photo URL

CVE-2026-44116 · published 6 months ago
Summary

Versions of OpenClaw released before 2026.4.22 do not properly check the web address of photos sent through the Zalo plugin. This lets a malicious user supply a crafted address that makes the OpenClaw server request internal network resources, potentially exposing private information. Upgrade OpenClaw to version 2026.4.22 or later and verify that outbound requests are restricted to trusted destinations.

What to do
  • Update openclaw openclaw to version 2026.4.22 or later.

Original advisory text
OpenClaw < 2026.4.22 - Server-Side Request Forgery in Zalo Photo URL Validation
OpenClaw before 2026.4.22 contains a server-side request forgery vulnerability in the Zalo plugin's sendPhoto function that fails to validate outbound photo URLs through the SSRF guard. Attackers can bypass SSRF protection by providing malicious photo URLs to the Zalo Bot API, enabling unauthorized access to internal resources.
