CVE-2026-16923: IBM AIX & PowerVM VIOS allow user to become admin
CVE-2026-16923 · published 2 months ago
Summary
The AIX 7.2 and 7.3 operating systems and PowerVM VIOS 4.1 have a weakness that lets a person with basic access raise their rights to full administrator level. This could let an insider or someone who gains a foothold on the server take control of the system. Apply the latest IBM security patches and review user privileges to limit who can log on locally.
