CVE-2026-118169: Hustle plugin lets low‑level users run scripts on pages
CVE-2026-118169 · published 7 days ago
Summary
The Hustle email‑marketing plugin for WordPress allows users with Subscriber or higher rights to insert custom code into a label field. When that code is saved, it runs automatically for anyone who views the affected page, potentially stealing data or compromising the site. Restrict the ability to edit modules to trusted administrators only and update the plugin to the latest version that removes this behavior.
What to do
The CVE record does not list a fixed version. Check the vendor's site or the advisory links below - a fix may already be released.

Original advisory text
Hustle <= 7.8.14.3 - Authenticated (Subscriber+) Stored Cross-Site Scripting via 'cta_label' Parameter
The Hustle – Email Marketing, Lead Generation, Optins, Popups plugin for WordPress is vulnerable to Stored Cross-Site Scripting via the 'content[cta_label]' parameter in all versions up to, and including, 7.8.14.3 due to insufficient input sanitization and output escaping. This makes it possible for authenticated attackers, with custom-level access and above, to inject arbitrary web scripts in pages that will execute whenever a user accesses an injected page. By default only Administrators hold the hustle_edit_module capability, but the plugin's built-in Permissions screen allows administrators to delegate this capability to lower roles including Subscriber, enabling Subscriber-level exploitation on sites where that delegation has been configured.
