CVE-2026-103549: GitLab allows maintainer to delete protected package data
CVE-2026-103549 · published 6 days ago
Summary
All GitLab Community and Enterprise editions released before the latest patches let a logged-in user with maintainer rights erase package information that should only be removable by higher‑level administrators. This could break package protection settings and affect deployments that rely on those packages. Update GitLab to the newest version released after the patches, or restrict maintainer privileges until you can apply the update.
What to do
- Update gitlab to version 19.4.2.
- Update gitlab gitlab to version 19.2.8 or later.

Original advisory text
Incorrect Authorization in GitLab
GitLab has remediated an issue in GitLab CE/EE affecting all versions from 17.6 before 19.2.8, 19.3 before 19.3.5, and 19.4 before 19.4.2 that, under certain conditions, could have allowed an authenticated user with maintainer-role permissions to remove certain package registry metadata that package protection rules restrict to higher roles, due to improper authorization checks.
