CVE-2025-20322: Splunk Enterprise: Unauthenticated Phishing Attack Can Cause System Restart
CVE-2025-20322 · published 1 year ago
Summary
An attacker can trick an administrator into clicking on a malicious link, causing a denial-of-service (system restart) on the Splunk Enterprise system. This requires the attacker to phish the administrator, not directly gain access to the system. Update your Splunk Enterprise to the latest version to prevent this.

The attacker should not be able to exploit the vulnerability at will.

See [How rolling restart works](https://docs.splunk.com/Documentation/Splunk/9.4.2/DistSearch/RestartSHC) for more information.
