CVE-2023-54141: Linux kernel Wi‑Fi driver crash on IPQ5018 devices

CVE-2023-54141 · published 10 months ago
Summary

The Linux kernel's Wi‑Fi driver for Qualcomm IPQ5018 hardware can try to use a missing function, causing the system to stop working when wireless clients connect. This can lead to loss of network service and affect any Linux distribution using that driver. Updating the kernel to the latest version that includes the fix prevents the crash.
