CVE-2023-53193: Linux kernel AMDGPU driver may log error on shutdown
CVE-2023-53193 · published 1 year ago
Summary
The AMDGPU graphics driver in the Linux kernel can produce an unnecessary error trace when the system shuts down the GPU, because it tries to turn off an interrupt that the firmware controls. This does not impact system security or stability, but the extra logging can clutter logs. Updating to a recent kernel version removes the spurious trace.
What to do
- Update debian linux to version 6.1.37-1.
- Update debian linux to version 6.3.7-1.
- Update linux kernel to version 6.3.3.

drm/amdgpu: fix amdgpu_irq_put call trace in gmc_v10_0_hw_fini
In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: drm/amdgpu: fix amdgpu_irq_put call trace in gmc_v10_0_hw_fini The gmc.ecc_irq is enabled by firmware per IFWI setting, and the host driver is not privileged to enable/disable the interrupt. So, it is meaningless to use the amdgpu_irq_put function in gmc_v10_0_hw_fini, which also leads to the call trace.
