MySQL Server 8.0.17 and earlier can be crashed remotely

Summary

Versions of MySQL Server up to 8.0.17 (including the InnoDB component) can be forced to hang or crash by an attacker who can reach the server over the network. This results in a denial‑of‑service condition, stopping the database from working. Upgrade to a newer MySQL release or apply the vendor’s patch, and ensure any NetApp products that use this component are also updated.

Vulnerability in the MySQL Server product of Oracle MySQL (component: InnoDB). Supported versions that are affected are 8.0.17 and prior. Easily exploitable vulnerability allows high privileged attacker with network access via multiple protocols to compromise MySQL Server. Successful attacks of this vulnerability can result in unauthorized ability to cause a hang or frequently repeatable crash (complete DOS) of MySQL Server.
