CVE-2018-9551: Android media server can run attacker code
CVE-2018-9551 · published 7 years ago
Summary
The AAC decoder in Android’s media server lacks a safety check, allowing data to be written outside its intended memory area. An attacker who convinces a user to play a crafted audio file could cause the server to execute their code without needing extra permissions.
