CVE-2018-7203: Twonky Server runs malicious script via friendlyname parameter

CVE-2018-7203 · published 8 years ago
Summary

A flaw in Twonky Server versions 7.0.11 through 8.5 lets an outside attacker place a web script or HTML code into the friendlyname field of a remote procedure call. When the server processes that request, the injected code can be executed in a user’s browser, potentially stealing data or performing unwanted actions. Apply the vendor’s security update or configure the server to reject unexpected input to mitigate the risk.
