CVE-2018-17573: Wp-Insert plugin lets attackers upload malicious PHP files

CVE-2018-17573 · published 8 years ago
Summary

The Wp-Insert add‑on for WordPress (versions up to 2.4.2) exposes parts of the FCKeditor file manager, allowing anyone to upload their own PHP scripts. This could let a bad actor place and run code on your site, potentially taking control of the server. Update to a newer version, disable the vulnerable editor features, or remove the plugin altogether.
