CVE-2018-10988: Diqee360 devices run unsigned upgrade script as root

CVE-2018-10988 · published 8 years ago
Summary

The Diqee360’s built‑in update routine looks for a folder on the microSD card when the device powers on. If it finds a file named upgrade.sh, it runs that script with full system privileges, even though the script is not signed or verified. To protect the device, only trusted files should be placed on the card and the firmware should be updated to remove this auto‑run behavior.
