CVE-2017-7401: collectd can freeze from crafted UDP packet

CVE-2017-7401 · published 9 years ago
Summary

Versions of collectd up to 5.7.1 can stop responding if they are set to no security and an attacker sends a specially formed UDP message. This leaves the monitoring service unavailable until it is restarted. Update to a newer collectd release or enable authentication to prevent the issue.
