CVE-2017-6419: libmspack 0.5alpha can crash when opening malicious CHM files

CVE-2017-6419 · published 9 years ago
Summary

The libmspack library used for reading CHM (help) files can be forced to stop working by a specially crafted CHM file. This could cause the application that relies on the library, such as ClamAV, to stop scanning or become unavailable. Update to a newer libmspack version or apply the vendor's patch, and avoid processing CHM files from untrusted sources.
