CVE-2017-13689: tcpdump may read beyond data and crash

CVE-2017-13689 · published 9 years ago
Summary

Older versions of tcpdump that handle IKEv1 traffic can accidentally read past the end of a network packet, which could cause the program to stop working or behave unpredictably. This occurs in the component that parses IKEv1 messages. Updating tcpdump to version 4.9.2 or newer eliminates the risk.
