CVE-2017-0193: Windows Hyper-V lets attacker gain admin rights in guest OS

CVE-2017-0193 · published 9 years ago
Summary

The Hyper-V virtualization feature in Windows 7, 8.1, 10, Windows Server 2008 and Server 2012 may let a malicious user inside a virtual machine break out and obtain administrator privileges on the host system. This could allow the attacker to control the entire server or workstation and access sensitive data. Install the latest Microsoft security updates for the affected Windows versions, and disable Hyper-V if you do not need it.
