CVE-2016-7086: VMware Workstation can let local users become admin

CVE-2016-7086 · published 9 years ago
Summary

On Windows, versions of VMware Workstation Pro and Player prior to 12.5 allow a malicious setup64.exe file placed in the installation folder to run with elevated rights. This means a local user could trick the system into granting higher privileges. Update to version 12.5 or later, or remove any unknown files from the VMware installation directory.
