CVE-2016-5429: jose-php before 2.2.1 allows timing attack to steal data

CVE-2016-5429 · published 10 years ago
Summary

The jose-php library versions older than 2.2.1 check message authentication codes in a way that can be measured by an attacker. By sending many requests and measuring how long the server takes to respond, a remote attacker can gradually discover secret information. Upgrade to version 2.2.1 or later, or apply a patch that makes the comparison run in constant time.
