CVE-2016-4859: Splunk Enterprise can be tricked into open redirects

CVE-2016-4859 · published 9 years ago
Summary

Certain older versions of Splunk Enterprise and Splunk Light may send users to any web address you choose, which could be used for phishing. Attackers could exploit this to make users think they are still within the trusted Splunk interface while they are actually on a malicious site. Update to the latest version of Splunk or apply the supplied patches to stop the redirection.
