CVE-2016-0070: Windows kernel lets local user gain admin rights
CVE-2016-0070 · published 10 years ago
Summary
The core part of several Windows versions—including Windows 7, 8.1, 10, Vista, Server 2008, Server 2012 and Windows RT—can be tricked by a specially crafted program to give a regular user higher privileges and read protected registry data. This means a malicious app could potentially take control of the computer. Install the latest Windows updates or patches that address this issue as soon as possible.
