CVE-2015-7236: rpcbind can crash from malformed network packets

CVE-2015-7236 · published 11 years ago
Summary

The rpcbind service in versions up to 0.2.1 may stop working if it receives specially crafted network messages. This makes the service unavailable, which can disrupt applications that rely on it for remote procedure calls. Update to a newer rpcbind release or apply the vendor's patch to prevent the crash.
