CVE-2015-7196: Firefox and ESR 38 crash from crafted Java applet

CVE-2015-7196 · published 11 years ago
Summary

Versions of Firefox older than 42 and the Enterprise Support Release 38 older than 38.4 can stop working if a malicious Java applet runs in the browser. The problem can make the browser close unexpectedly and, in rare cases, let an attacker run code on the computer. Updating Firefox to the latest version or turning off the Java plugin removes the risk.
