CVE-2015-6992: iOS, macOS and iTunes can be hijacked by malicious fonts

CVE-2015-6992 · published 11 years ago
Summary

Versions of iOS before 9.1, macOS before 10.11.1, and iTunes before 12.3.1 may let a specially crafted font file run unwanted code or crash the device. An attacker could send such a font to a user or host a file online, and if opened it could take control or cause a crash. Update the operating system and iTunes to the latest releases, or apply any offered patches, to protect against this risk.
