HP Gobi 4G module firmware lets local users gain privileges

Summary

HP laptops, tablets, and thin clients that use the lt4112 LTE/HSPA+ Gobi 4G module with firmware older than version 12.500.00.15.1803 can allow anyone with physical access to the machine to increase their access rights. This could let a user perform actions normally reserved for administrators. Update the module's firmware to the latest version provided by HP to close the gap.
