CVE-2015-4538: EMC Atmos XML parser lets logged-in users read files
CVE-2015-4538 · published 11 years ago
Summary
The XML processing component in EMC Atmos versions before 2.2.3.426 and 2.3.1.0 can be tricked by an authenticated user into opening any file on the server or consuming excessive CPU and memory, potentially slowing or stopping the service. This happens because the parser accepts specially crafted XML that references external data. Upgrade Atmos to the patched versions or disable external entity handling in the XML parser to protect your system.
