CVE-2015-3939: IDS NC854/NC856 modules let logged-in users read any file

CVE-2015-3939 · published 11 years ago
Summary

The NC854 and NC856 modules used in IDS RTU 850C devices have a weakness that allows someone with a valid login to the device's internal web page to open and read files they should not see, such as files that store Telnet passwords. This could expose confidential credentials and other sensitive data. Apply the vendor's security update, limit who can log in, and consider isolating these devices from the broader network.
