CVE-2014-5258: webEdition CMS allows logged-in users to read any file

CVE-2014-5258 · published 12 years ago
Summary

The webEdition content management system before version 6.3.9.0 Beta lets a user who is already logged in request files they shouldn't see by adding ".." to the file name. This could expose private data, configuration files, or other sensitive information stored on the server. Upgrade to version 6.3.9.0 Beta or later, and limit file access permissions for authenticated users.
