CVE-2013-5170: Apple macOS <10.9 can be crashed or hijacked via PDF

CVE-2013-5170 · published 13 years ago
Summary

Versions of Apple macOS prior to 10.9 have a flaw in the CoreGraphics component that can be triggered by a specially crafted PDF file. An attacker who convinces a user to open such a PDF could cause the application to crash or run the attacker’s code on the computer. Update the operating system to macOS 10.9 or later, or apply any available patches, to protect against this risk.
