CVE-2012-3238: Astaro Security Gateway backup restores let attackers insert malicious script

CVE-2012-3238 · published 14 years ago
Summary

The backup/restore page in the WebAdmin console of Astaro Security Gateway (also marketed as Sophos Unified Threat Management) accepts a comment field that can be filled with malicious web code. An attacker who can reach this page could cause the code to run in the browser of anyone who views the backup details, potentially stealing data or changing settings. Upgrade to version 8.305 or later, or apply the vendor’s patch, and ensure web input is properly filtered.
