CVE-2012-1947: Firefox, Thunderbird, SeaMonkey could let attackers run code

CVE-2012-1947 · published 14 years ago
Summary

Older versions of Firefox (4.x-12.0), Thunderbird (5.0-12.0) and SeaMonkey before 2.10 have a flaw that can be triggered by specially crafted web content, allowing a remote attacker to run any program on the computer. This happens because the software mishandles certain character‑set conversions, causing memory corruption. Upgrade to the latest releases of these browsers or apply the vendor's security patches to protect your systems.
