CVE-2011-3374: Debian apt may trust forged repository keys

CVE-2011-3374 · published 6 years ago
Summary

The apt program used to install software on Debian does not correctly check the authenticity of GPG keys, so a malicious party could insert a fake key and supply altered packages. This could let an attacker deliver harmful software during normal updates. Upgrade to a version that fixes the check and, until then, only add repositories you control and verify their keys manually.
