CVE-2010-2540: MapServer lets attackers run debug commands remotely
CVE-2010-2540 · published 16 years ago
Summary
Older versions of MapServer (before 4.10.6 and before 5.6.4) do not block special debugging arguments passed through the web interface. An attacker could send crafted requests that trigger these arguments, potentially causing the server to behave unexpectedly or reveal information. Update MapServer to the latest version or apply the vendor's security patch to stop the misuse of these arguments.
What to do
- Update debian mapserver to version 5.6.4-1.
