CVE-2010-1941: NEC WebSAM DeploymentManager may shut down server remotely

CVE-2010-1941 · published 16 years ago
Summary

The WebSAM DeploymentManager component used in several NEC management suites can be triggered by specially crafted network packets to cause the operating system to shut down or restart. This can be done from outside the network without authentication, leading to loss of service. Apply any available updates from NEC, and block or limit traffic to port 56010 until the issue is resolved.
