CVE-2009-3483: CuteFTP 8.3.3 can crash or run code from long site label

CVE-2009-3483 · published 17 years ago
Summary

The Create New Site screen in CuteFTP Professional, Home and Lite version 8.3.3 (including 8.3.3.0054) mishandles very long site names, which can corrupt memory. An attacker who convinces a user to open a specially crafted site list can make the program stop working or possibly run unwanted code. Update to a newer version of CuteFTP or avoid opening untrusted site lists until the fix is applied.
