CVE-2009-1442: Chrome may execute malicious code from crafted images

CVE-2009-1442 · published 17 years ago
Summary

Certain older versions of Google Chrome that use the Skia graphics library can be tricked by specially crafted images or canvas content to run unwanted code in the browser's rendering component. This could let an attacker take control of that part of the browser when a user views the malicious content. Update Chrome to a version newer than 1.0.154.64 for the 1.x line or the latest 2.x release to protect against this risk.
