CVE-2008-1962: Aterr 0.9.1 lets attackers run local files

CVE-2008-1962 · published 18 years ago
Summary

The Aterr version 0.9.1 web component can be tricked into loading files from the server’s own file system. By inserting ".." sequences in certain URL parameters, a remote user could cause the system to include and execute files it shouldn’t, potentially exposing data or taking control. Update to a newer, patched version of Aterr or apply the vendor’s recommended configuration changes to block such path navigation.
