CVE-2008-1145: WEBrick in Ruby can let attackers read any file

CVE-2008-1145 · published 18 years ago
Summary

The WEBrick web server component included with Ruby versions before certain patches can be tricked into revealing files from the server’s file system. This happens on operating systems that use backslashes in paths or ignore case in file names, allowing outsiders to request files they shouldn’t see. Update Ruby to the latest version or apply the security patches that fix the path‑handling logic.
