CVE-2007-2742: w2box allows attackers to upload malicious PHP files
CVE-2007-2742 · published 19 years ago
Summary
The w2box component on labs.beffa.org lets anyone upload files without checking the file type. By naming a file with a double extension like .php.jpg, an attacker can place executable code on the server, potentially taking control of the site. Fix the problem by updating to a patched version or disabling the upload feature until proper file validation is added.
