CVE-2006-3901: Tumbleweed Email Firewall runs code from crafted LHA attachment

CVE-2006-3901 · published 20 years ago
Summary

The Tumbleweed Email Firewall can be tricked by an email that includes a specially crafted LHA archive – for example, one with a very long file name or header. That crafted file can overwrite the program’s memory and let a remote attacker run whatever code they choose on the firewall. Install the vendor’s security update as soon as possible, or temporarily block LHA attachments until the patch is applied.
